Russka by Edward Rutherfurd

A compelling saga of the history of Russia from two millenia ago until the modern age, Russka truly brings history to life. I was enthralled by Rutherfurds detailled storytelling, moving characters and diligently researched background.

From the stories of the steppes to the impact of Poland and Turkey on the mindset of Russia, Rutherfurd captures the glory and essence of Russia. The duality, conflict and stabiitiy of the Russian people were facinating to study throughout the novel. The impact of the Church and the Tzar on Russian identiiy was amazing.

This is a fasciting tale that carries the past into the future and competely changed my view of Russia.
